Kshudiram Bose statue in Silchar

The life-size bronze statue of Kshudiram Bose was finally seen standing in Silchar following a decade-long delay.

Unfortunately a construction company called Alliance Implementation Project has dumped construction materials around its base. Concerned citizens have already raised voice on the issue. Also there had been a lot of discussion in the local media. But inspite of that, the company did not pay any heed to the problem. Finally District Magistrate Gautam Ganguly and Municipal Chairman Bithika Deb assigned a time limit of seven days to clear the site.

The statue foundation committee called for a press conference regarding the matter. They said they expect that the construction company will remove the garbage from the place pretty soon. If they are reluctant, the committee will take necessary steps. source: observer247
