NEW DELHI, July 31: Responding to a question, Union Minister of State for Heavy Industry and Public Enterprises Arun Yadav revealed in Parliament that as many as 13 NGOs of Asom had received Rs 50,57,000 from Hindustan Paper Corporation during the last three years. These NGOs were Asom Madhyamik Sikshak aru Karmachari Santha, Silchar (Rs 50,000), Ashiyan , Silchar (Rs 10 lakh), Kristi Vivek Sangskritik Sangstha, Silchar (Rs 25,000), Silchar Friends Club (Rs 5,000), Secretary General of Asian Athletic Grand Prix (Rs 10 lakh), Nagaon Sports Association (Rs 1 lakh), Assam Badminton Association (Rs 2 lakh) Axom Xahitya Xabha, Nagaon (Rs 1 lakh), District Advocate Bar Association, Karimganj (Rs 10 lakh), Lala Town Committee, Hailakandi (Rs 10 lakh), Assam Hockey Association, Nagaon (Rs 1 lakh), Nagaon Sports Association (Rs 3 lakh) and Axom Xahitya Xabha, Dhemaji (Rs 1,77,000). The minister further said Bokajan Cement Factory, a unit of Cement Corporation of India, had also given Rs 2,47,725 to Ashiyan, Silchar in the fiscal 2007-08.
