SILCHAR, July 25 – An NGO of Silchar named Humanity Foundation recently feted meritorious students who secured positions in the HSLC and HSSLC examination of the current year.
The felicitation programme was presided over by the ex-principal of Karimganj College, Dr Kamaluddin Ahmed. The DC of Cachar, Gautam Ganguly was the chief guest and the VC of Assam University, Professor GD Sharma was the guest of honour at the programme.
The dignitaries wished the students success in life and the chief guest added that these felicitation programmes were basically meant to encourage the students in their endeavour. Prof GD Sharma advised the students to utilise their education in the best possible way and not just as a tool for making money. Dr Kamaluddin Ahmed stressed on the importance of education in his presidential address.
The students who were felicitated were Kishen Sen Laskar, 8th position holder HSLC examination, 1st position holder, Jamal Islam, 2nd position Kazi M Saleh, 4th position, Bardur Ahmed and 5th position holder Dilwan Hussain in the Madrassa examination. The HSSLC examination awardees included 4th position holder, Chandima Paul, 5th position Shaolee Choudhury, 6th position Ramayam Chakraborty and 9th position holder Pritam Chakraborty respectively.
