NEW DELHI, July 23: Responding to requests from Bangladesh, the Indian government has decided to share information on the Tipaimukh hydel power project with Bangladesh and has invited a parliamentary delegation from the neighbouring country to visit India and discuss the issues. This was revealed by Union Minister of State for External Affairs Preneet Kaur on the floor of the Rajya Sabha today.
Kaur further said that the centre was aware of conflicting opinions regarding the project in Bangladesh and assured to clarify issues whenever necessary.
Meanwhile, New Delhi assured Dhaka that it would not do anything to harm the latter’s interests. The issue figured in the hour-long discussion between visiting Bangladeshi Foriegn Minister Dipu Moni and External Affairs Minister SM Krishna here today.
