SILCHAR, July 23: Silchar MP Kabindra Purkayastha today categorically stated that the BJP would seek investigation from higher authorities into the allegation levelled against BJP-ASDC alliance in NC Hills in the Manisena Commission report.
Talking to The Sentinel from Silchar, Purkayastha said he has not gone through the report, but whatever was reflected in the media was not at all acceptable, not only for the party but also for the common people. He said, just after the ASDC-BJP alliance took reign in the NC Autonomous District Council, the Congress was desperate to topple the council and from the very beginning, they started to hatch political conspiracy against the party.
The Congress government earlier failed miserably to contain militancy in the hills and hence they tried to politicalize the issue, stated Purkayastha.
But, he said, the people had complete faith on BJP and the allegation that ASDC-BJP paid a hefty amount to the militant group Black Widow to win the council election in 2007, was baseless.
Purkayastha refuted the impression that the Manisena Commission report would hamper BJP’s prospect in the ensuing civic body poll and maintained that BJP would definitely win from the Silchar Municipality Board. SOURCE: THE SENTINEL
