NEW DELHI, July 22: In a recent development, Asom Pradesh Congress Committee secretary Prodeep Dutta Roy has filed a written complaint to Union Minister for Urban Development Jaipal Reddy for looking into the matter of non completion of the Storm Water Drainage Project in Silchar by NBC.
In his letter, Roy said that an amount of Rs 176 crore was sanctioned for the project by the Centre of which Rs 7 crore was directly given to NBCC through the State government. Later, NBCC gave the subcontract of the project to M/s Double Dee Construction of Guwahati without any tender flouting all norms which are to be followed in such type of important projects. But, NBCC has left the job incomplete now.
He also said that an inquiry should be made into the matter and measures should be undertaken to bring into light the reasons of non-completion of the work and also the misappropriation of money. SOURCE: THE SENTINEL
