Dwipwndra Nath Das was born on November 26, 1952, at Mairamara village in Howly area. He was the eldest son of former minister Dr Suren Das. He died in an accident on June 26 last. He was indeed a man of versatile qualities.
Late Das studied at Howly first and then obtained his masters degree in Political Science from Gauhati University. During his student life, he associated himself with AASU and took part in student movements and led the local unit of AASU as it’s president.
He was an ace badminton player and a champion at college level. He later showed his proficiency in chess also. After serving as assistant teacher and subject teacher at Majgaon and Langla Higher Secondary School respectively, late Das joined as Inspector of Taxes after being qualied in the ACS allied services. He was working as the superintendent of Taxes at Biswanath Chariali when he died.
Late Das was an affluent in English, Punjabi, Hindi, Bhojpuri, Marwari and Bengali. He was an embodiment of love, joy and amiable in nature.
Today, on the day of his Adya Shraddha, we pray for eternal peace of his departed soul.
