SILCHAR, Oct 9: The Black Widow will urge the State Government to release its supremo Jewel Garlosa, who is in jail, sources said. Gopinath Garlosa, elder brother of Jewel Garlosa as well as a Congress leader, has also been persuading the Government to free the Black Widow chief. Confirming this, Gopinath, who had met Jewel in Guwahati yesterday, told The Sentinel over telephone that he was trying for the release of Jewel in his personal capacity and hoped that Niranjan Hojai, ‘commander-in-chief’ of Black Widow, would reiterate his demand for the release of Jewel at a meeting with State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma this week. Gopinath further hinted that the JNH, the apex body of the Dimasa community, would also press for the release of Jewel Garlosa as the Black Widow had surrendered and deposited their arms.
