Mud slinging between Goala and Suklabaidya continues

SILCHAR, Nov 5: Mud slinging between BJP MLA from Dholai Parimal Suklabaidya and State Urban Development Minister Dinesh Prasad Goala continues as the former today branded Goala as a "worthless politician" and "king of corruption." Goala had earlier lambasted Suklabaidya of doing nothing for the development of his constituency in a press conference held recently.

Sources said Suklabaidya alleged that although Goala had been in the State Cabinet for two consecutive years yet he could not manage to provide ration cards to the people of Karimganj district. The State Supply Department had issued ration cards for the three Bengali-dominated districts but the cards were rejected as they were in Assamese and Goala being a cabinet minister had done nothing till date to issue ration cards in Bengali, Suklabaidya alleged.

Suklabaidya further said that Goala’s constituency–– Lakhipur–– was promoted to a subdivision in 1992 but Goala had done nothing to uplift the infrastructure of the subdivision in the last two decades. Moreover, Goala’s ignorance on the development of the Storm Water Drainage Project in his own district is shameful, said Suklabaidya.

The BJP MLA further alleged that two of the younger brothers of Goala –– Gunesh Prasad Goala and Ramesh Prasad Goala–– were working as teachers and regularly withdrew their salaries although both of them never attended to their duties. Moreover, Gunesh Prasad Goala has been inducted in the interview board of the Anganwadi workers and helpers which cannot be possible, he said.
