BVTGTA calls Barak bandh on Dec

SILCHAR, Dec 18: The Barak Valley Textile and Garments Traders Association (BVTGTA) has called a 12-hour Barak bandh on December 22 next. The bandh has been called in protest against the imposition of four per cent VAT on all garment products.

BVTGTA said that the bandh would be observed all over the State. Medical service examination and the Federation Cup matches would be exempted from the dawn-to-dusk bandh, the BVTGTA said.

Silchar central Co-ordination Committee of Associations, Truck Owners’ Association, Cachar Merchant Association, Inter-Regional Barak Valley Bus Owners’ Association, Sumo Owners’ Association, Stationary Wholesaler and Retailer Association, UBI Employees Association, SBI Staff Association, AIBOA Food Grains Merchant Association have extended their support to the bandh.
