SILCHAR, Dec 17: Warmth of life returned to Gambhira Tea Estate after 30 long years as Barak Valley Cement Limited (BVCL) officially took over the tea garden in Karimganj district. The garden was closed for 30 years. Nearly 1,000 labourers were jobless. BVLC today officially took charge of the garden. Vijay Garodia, chairman, Sontosh Bajaj, director and Mukesh Agarwal, vice-president (administration and finance) of BVCL along with other staff made an on-the-spot inspection of the garden and had a discussion with the garden panchayat as well as labourers.
