Former Manipur BJP president dies in Silchar

Silchar, March 8: Former Manipur BJP president Raghumani Sarma died of a massive cerebral stroke here this morning. Sarma was in Silchar to attend the chintan baithak and the public rally to be addressed by RSS chief Mohanrao Bhagawat.

Sources said Sarma was about to start for Imphal from Silchar Kalyan Ashram this morning when he took ill and was rushed to the Civil Hospital. But the doctors declared him brought dead. He was 78. His body was taken to the Silchar RSS and later to the BJP office where BJP’s State general secretary Ajit Bhattacharjee, Northeast co-ordinator P Chandra Sekhar Rao and district president Kirit Bhushan Purkhayastha paid homage to the departed soul.
