Following posts are to be filled on Contractual basis ( purely temporary ) through a Walk-in-Interview on 18th February,2011 at 11.00 a.m. in NIT, Silchar.

(1) Store Keeper: (2 posts)–Bachelor Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce with knowledge of Computer. Salary : Rs. 10,000/- p.m. Eligible candidates are to submit their complete bio-data along with photo copies of all testimonials and to bring all original documents at the time of interview.

Following posts are to be filled on Contractual basis (purely temporary) through a Walk-in-Interview on 18th February, 2011 at 11.00 a.m. in NIT, Silchar.

(1) Assistant Professor : a) for Electrical Engineering (1 post) : Master Degree with 1st class at Bachelors/Master degree in appropriate discipline and b) for Mathematics (1 post) Ph.D. degree with 1st class at Bachelors/Master degree in appropriate discipline. Salary negotiable.

(2) Accounts Assistant (2 posts): B.Com. with minimum 55% marks & knowledge of Computer i.e. MS word, excel, tally etc. Working experience with CA firm, educational Institute or comparable similar experience is desirable. Retired person may also appear the interview Consolidated salary of Rs. 10,000/- p.m. (3) Library & Information Assistant : 1 (post) BLISc with minimum 55% marks & knowledge of Computer i.e. MS word, excel etc.. Consolidated salary of Rs. 10,000/- p.m.

Applications in the prescribed form are invited from Indian Nationals for recruitment to the post of Registrar of the Institute.

1. Scale of pay: – Rs. 16,400-450-20,900-500-22,400/-(Pre-revised)

2. Essential Qualification & Experience (Pre-revised) : (1) Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade (2) At least 15 years of experience as Lecturer/Assistant Professor (as per 5th Pay Commission) of which eight years should be in Assistant Professor (Rs.12,000-18,300) grade with experience in Educational Administration OR 15 years of administrative experience out of which eight years as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post. The minimum requirement of 55% marks shall not be insisted upon in the case of existing incumbents who are already in the NIT System OR Comparable experience in research establishments, institutions of Technical Education or in Government.

3. Desirable: (i) A Postgraduate degree in Engg. with at least 60% marks or its equivalent grade. (ii) A Degree in Law/Management (iii) Considerable experience in educational administration, financial and accounts management and capacity to lead the administration in a residential institution and knowledge of Computer and web-based administration. (iv) Proven experience in excellent human relations and successful personnel management, industrial relations, campus management and other aspects of administration, preferably in a large educational or R&D institution. All-round ability to co-ordinate and lead a team of Officers with varied expertise.
