PM makes no mention of Silchar-Lumding BG

Our Correspondent NEW DELHI, July 2: Prime Minister Manomahan Singh made no mention of the Lumding–Silchar BG line in his speech while releasing the Vision Document here today. Of course, Union Heavy Industries Minister Santosh Mohan Dev raised the issue during his speech. Dev said: “It’s unfortunate that the Lumding-Silchar-Tupul BG line and Mahasadak project connecting East-West corridors have been either delayed or held up due to a number of reasons, including lack of resources and adverse law-and-order situation”. source: sentinel assam

This 'Silchar Lumding BG' will never work out until and unless we (The general public) pay our attention to that. We are the cause behind the impediment, our people are not prepared for that, our mindset is not yet developed enough to think about the development of our state. Citizens think only about them. The militants are killing the workers and the engineers who come there for the railway work, the law and order is not bothered about what is happening and how to resolve the issue. Everyone is busy in satisfying there own pocket.
Our Indian army is strong enough to clean all these militant activities which are going on in northeastern regions within 15 days. But there hands are also handcuffed by our politicians.
Another reason is, there are hundreds of passenger buses and thousands of goods carrier trucks which moves via that roads and are doing monopoly business will be stopped if the railway come into action. So, I am very sure that the owner associations of those travel agencies are doing there best to stop the railway work.
Everyone is a part of the corrupted system. Assam has been awarded as the most corrupted state in the country by the “The latest India Corruption Study 2007”
But no one is bothered of that, neither our politicians and nor our public. But they want all the amenities to be delivered to there house without any hiccups.

The state will never rise until we rise.
