PCO owner arrested for threatening OC

SILCHAR, Jan 6: Silchar police has arrested one PCO owner for his alleged involvement in a case of threatening to a police officer through SMS. The owner of the PCO Zenith Gautam Sharma had allegedly threatened the OC of Silchar Sadar Thana Ashok Saha on December 15.From our Staff Reporter sentinel assam
The mobile message sent to Saha read that Silchar town would be blown up within next three days. The sender identified himself as ‘Don Balaram’. The sender’s number led the police zeroing on to the PCO. Sharma was picked up by police yesterday night. He was dealing in Aircel mobile connection. The number from where the SMS came belonged to one Pinky Biswas from Kashipur area. Saha today said Pinky Biswas was a fictitious name and all the documents submitted along with the application form were duplicate. Sharma had reportedly claimed that he was innocent and he was not aware of any such SMS. Sharma had been produced to court today and later on sent back to police custody. A source said, the business of duplicate SIM card was going on in full swing in Barak Valley. Sharma had reportedly admitted that he was ruining another agency of Aircel in the fictitious name of Debodeep Dutta.
