GUWAHATI, Jan 24 – A super speciality hospital is going to be established by Sri Kanchi Sankara Puvothoara Pradesha Sewa Trust as a part of the Kanchi Sankarcharya Organisation in Silchar. A few days back the organization made a professional survey of the town regarding health and found that a super speciality hospital was necessary. In this connection, in its phase I the OPD was inaugurated at DSA Sports Complex Silchar.

The OPD was inaugurated by Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, SM Dev. In his speech he said that this will be a boon for the NE region. This hospital is the first of its nature in this region.

The health care centre is rendering free medical consultation in general medicine and selected specialist areas to all those needing assistance in Silchar and surrounding areas. More specialities will be added progressively.

The OPD is open six days a week. This includes Tuesday to Sunday with Monday as weekly holiday and the timing are 9 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 5 pm on every working day. The centre is located below the Tata Block of DSA Stadium. source: assam tribune
