SILCHAR, Feb 13: The international NGO Smile Train is organizing a free surgical camp at Mediland Hospital and Research Centre from February 16 for the treatment of the poor section of society. The camp will be headed by renowned plastic surgeon RG Kar Medical College Retired Prof and HOD of Plastic Surgery Dr Shankar Chatterjee of Kolkata who will examine patients with birth defect of lips and palates and perform corrective operations of such patients.
Smile Train has already performed 11 such cases in September, 22 in November and 18 in December last and 16 cases in January 2009. This information was shared by Dr Kushal Kumar Kar of Mediland Hospital and Research Centre for the benefit of the downtrodden people of society so that they can avail themselves of this free of cost treatment.
