Assam Election Result updates

In Silchar constituency, Kabindra Purkayastha of the BJP defeated Badruddin Ajmal of the AUDF by a margin of 41,470 votes. Purkayastha received 2, 43,532 votes against 2, 02,062 votes received by Ajmal. Santosh Mohan Dev of the Congress came third by receiving 1, 97,244 votes. Lalit Mohan Suklabaidya of the Congress defeated Rajesh Mallah of the AUDF by a margin of 7,920 votes.

4 P.M.
AUDF president Badruddin Ajmal has won by 1.89 lakh votes from Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency in Assam.

AUDF candidate from Karimganj Mr. Rajesh Malla is leading by 48 thousand votes in Karimganj.

Badruddin Ajmal has lost in Silchar against BJP candidate Kabindra Purkayastha, Santosh Mohan Dev 3rd.

Mr. Sirajuddin Ajmal (AUDF) has lost from Nogoan and Kilyabor constituencies.

2 P.M. In assam Congress leading in 5 of the 14 LS seat. Congress maintained lead in five of the 14 constituencies in Assam while AGP-BJP is leading in 5 seats and AUDF in 3 seats.

Congress MP Santosh Mohan Dev was running a poor third behind Rabin Purkayastha (BJP) and Badaruddin Ajmal (AUDF) in Silchar.

However B K Handique was ahead of his AGP rival in Jorhat. AUDF's Baduruddin Ajmal was way ahead of his Congress rival in the Dhubri seat.

AUDF's Rajesh Malla and Abdus Samad had established early leads in the Karimganj and Barpeta LS seats respectively.

Mani Kumar Subba was ahead in Tezpur. Rani Narah was ahead inLakhimpur seat.

BJP's Rajen Gohain was ahead in Nagaon while Bijoya Chakravarty was trailing in Guwahati seat.
