NBCC has landed itself in fresh trouble, this time from the vigilant citizens who have decided to rise up in arms against the corruption, drama and delay that has enveloped the construction work of the road from Club Road to Holy Cross School .

The NBCC authorities have had to bear the brunt of public grievance, and have in a evading tone assured of proper functioning in coming days and said that it will look into the matter and soon try to satisfy the public interest.

NBCC had taken up the work last year, amidst a turmoil. People had banked on their efficiency but they have failed to live up to their reputation

Road traffic halted MiD-WAY

Arindam Dutta ( a local contractor ) and NBCC took up the contract of completing the roads of Silchar last year , but for the last year work has been progressing at snails pace. And with the ferocity of monsoon taking over the region, a stroll down silchar’s road and you could slip all the way into a Orthopaedic ward in a hospital. This is but the truth that all silcharites have accepted almost as a verdict of destiny.The lethal combination of muddy roads and unplanned open drains that fabricate the boundary has become a fatal trap.
