The club decided to honour her so that others placed in simlar situations are encouraged to follow her. A woman sculptor, Lakshimi Rani Paul who has been earning her livelihood by making idols for a very long time was also awarded by the club. Three footballers, Asit Dhar, Arijit Dhar and Gokul Banik of the valley were also awarded.

Violet Baruah, SP, Cachar as the chief guest said that she was highly indebted to the Rotary Club for awarding two traffic constables. According to her, today nobody recognises police personnel for their contribution to the society. It is, indeed, a thankless job. Cachar is always suffering from manpower shortage. Despite this, the police personnel of this region are trying hard to serve the people. Others who spoke in the function were Dr Anjan Paul, president. Rotary Club, Silchar, Debashish Shome, Secretary, Rotary Club, Silchar, TR Choudhury and Shymal Das. source: assam tribune
