BJP gears up for polls in Karimganj Lok Sabha constituency

NILAMBAZAR, March 22 – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Karimganj district committee is gearing up for the forthcoming elections to the Karimganj Parliamentary constituency. In five Assembly constituencies of Karimganj district under the constituency, the party has intensified its poll campaign. In this connection, the BJP under the leadership of Mission Ranjan Das, MLA organised a series of meetings at Chitrabani premises, Nilmoni Road Karimganj town and party office recently.

A party worker’s meeting was held on Wednesday at Karimganj, where all presidents of Mondol BJP and other workers were present. The meeting was presided over by Biswarup Bhattacharjee, president BJP district committee and was addressed by Nitya Bhushan Dey, organising Pramukh in Barak Valley BJP. In his speech, Dey stressed the need for door to door campaigning. Bora urged workers to constitute an election committee for the campaign and smooth run of the election.

The BJP legislative leader and MLA North-Karimganj Mission Ranjan Das informed the party workers that apart from the State level issues they would highlight the problems of the district. He stated they would try to encash the problems of flood and erosion besides lack of irrigation and all round backwardness of the district to which the Congress and its MP LM Suklabaidya has turned a deaf ear.

He also alleged large scale corruption by the Congress Government in the district and urged the voters to root them out in the ensuing polls. Ratendra Bhattacharjee, ex-president Karimganj BJP, Shipra Goon, National executive member, Sudip Chak-ravarty, vice president, State Yuva Morch Sudhangshu Das, candidate of BJP was present at the meeting among others.
