Record performance by Silchar PHE division-I

KARIMGANJ, March 25 – Altogether 125 habitations have been covered by water supply facilities of Silchar PHE division-I upto 28.2.09.

Talking to this correspondent, Gautam Paul, executive engineer, Silchar PHE division-I disclosed that as on February 28 a total of 98000 people have been fully covered with water supply facilities. Silchar PHE division-I has already completed the execution work of 53 water supply schemes upto February 28, he added.

Silchar PHE Division-I set a record in rendering water supply facilities among the villagers of Kalain, Katigorah, Salchapra, Tapang Development Blocks, besides a portion of people residing under Barkhola and Silchar get drinking water from the water supply schemes executed by Silchar PHE division-I. The executive engineer informed that 22 nos rural schools have been bought under drinking water facilities.

Since inception of this division, the State government has sanctioned 53 piped water supply schemes for tea garden areas where it has already completed 48 schemes in tea gardens. Besides the State govern sanctioned 211 spot source water supply scheme for tea gardens and PHE deptt-successfully achieved the target, he added. ASSAM TRIBUNE
