BJP and AUDF demand re-poll

HAILAKANDI, April 17: Even though polls passed away peacefully yesterday, complaints among political parties seem to have no end. The BJP district committee has demanded re-poll of 37 centres, the AUDF has demanded for 17 centres while the Congress has not demand for re-poll. District BJP president Gobinda Lal Chatterjee along with ex-president Subrata Sarma Mazumdar met the district Election Officer today and reiterated their demand of re-poll while the AUDF district committee stressed on re-poll of 17 polling booths.

Meanwhile, the Election commission declared re-polling of three stations –Uttar Dinanathpur LP School under Kathicherra Assembly Segment, 429 Bandukmara LP School and Rajyeswarpur MV School booths of Hailakandi Assembly segment. It is reported that the Election Commission is also examining some other booths for consideration of re-poll and decision is expected by late night today. The date of re-polling is yet to be declared.

AUDF district president Anil Nath alleged that the administration has failed to provide adequate security in polling booths and taking this as an opportunity, the ruling party attempted proxy votes in different areas. He further expressed his hope that the AUDF candidate would win the seat. THE SENTINEL
