Elite people will vote for Congress: Bithika Dev

SILCHAR, April 3: Elite people of Silchar Assembly constituency would this time vote for Congress and Sontosh Mohan Dev would definitely take a lead in the town. This had been said by Bithika Dev, Silchar MLA as well as wife of the Union Minister Dev addressing a press meet here. Bithika said, she could see a wave for Congress in all the 28 Municipality wards and 11 Gaon Panchayat under Silchar Assembly constituency.

‘‘People of the town could realise that during our tenure, a member of welfare projects had been brought by the Union Minister and they want to see the projects completed. Hence, they would cast their votes in favour of the Congress", a confident Bithika said. Pooh-poohing the allegation made by BJP’s State Vice President Bimalangshu Roy that during Bithika’s tenure as the chairperson of Silchar Municipality Board, crores of rupees had been laundered, Bithika asked the BJP leader to file a RTI to get the actual picture.

Bithika Dev further added that, Congress was not negligent about paying tribute to Golam Osmani, a party MP, who died on Tuesday in Delhi.

She said when Osmani’s body was flown back to Silchar, all the Congress leaders including Dev paid tribute to "Osmani". "BJP is playing a dirty politics with a person who is no more in this world", Bithika Said. THE SENTINEL
