Repoll at two polling stations in Silchar today

SILCHAR, April 17: Election Commissioner of India has ordered repoll in the polling station No. 62 at Borthal Cha Bagan LP School under Lakhipur Legislative Assembly segment and in polling station No. 106 at 787 No. Hatiloma LP School under Barkhola Legislative LA segment of HP-2 Silchar Parliamentary Constituency.

The repoll will be held tomorrow from 7 am to 4 pm. District administration has declared holiday tomorrow for these two polling centres.

Chandra Sekhar, a Central school teacher who was the presiding officer at the polling station at Borthal Cha Bagan LP School, sustained bullet injury yesterday when the police resorted to firing to disperse an unruly mob which started pelting stones at the police team. Two police personnel — Abani Roy and Hussain Ahmed Barbhuiya — were also injured in the incident. They were admitted to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital.
