Sontosh Mohan Dev is an anti Bengali-Hindu: Bimalangshu Roy

Assam Election
SILCHAR
, April 8: In his long political career at the National level, lasting almost three decades, Sontosh Mohan Dev has done nothing for the Bengali Hindus, a community he represents. Dev was never the champion of Bengali-Hindu cause, and will never be,” alleged BJP’s state vice president Bimalangshu Roy.

Roy said, Dev was a Minister in Rajiv Gandhi’s government which inked the Assam Accord with the AASU and during this time the IMDT was also signed nullifying the previous Acts including illegal immigrant Act 1950, which ensured satiety and security for the displaced Hindu-Bengalis.
Roy also said Dev was a Congress MP and his party supported the devegonda and subsequent Gujral Governments where AGP was an integral part in the government. Dinesh Goswami and Birendra Prasad Baishya were the ministers in the Central cabinet with the support of Dev’s party.

Roy further added that in order to keep his Muslim vote bank intact, Dev had never raised his voice for the Bengali-Hindus in the Parliament.

Dev has always remained a mute spectator whenever Hindu women were victims of rape and molestation in the minority dominated areas in Barak Valley.

“Dev has to clarify his stand on the Bengali-Hindu issue as thousands of Bengali-Hindus had been marked as doubtful voters by the congress governments, but Dev has never uttered a single word of protest,” Roy alleged.THE SENTINEL
