GUWAHATI, May 17: The just-declared Lok Sabha poll results of Asom revealed some facts that have much to do with the 2011 Assembly elections in the State.
When the results of the Lok Sabha polls are analysed LAC-segment wise, it is seen that the AUDF and the BJP are on the top in more LAC segments than the number of LAC segments they have under them in the current Assembly in the State. The AGP, on the other hand, is at second spot even in the LAC segments that are under it in the current Assembly.
While the AUDF is on the top in as many as 25 LAC segments against 10 LACs that are currently held by the party, the BJP is on top in 18 LAC segments against 25 LACs that are currently under it. The AGP is on top in only 16 LAC segments against 25 LACs that are under it in the current Assembly. The ruling Congress has as many as 53 MLAs in the current Assembly, but the party is on top in 51 Assembly segments in the just-declared Lok Sabha poll results. THE SENTINEL
