NBCC to be blamed: Dinesh Prasad Goala

SILCHAR, May 3: State’s Urban Development Minister Dinesh Prasad Goala had squarely blamed the National Building and Construction Corporation for its utter failure in completing the master drainage project in Silchar.

Reacting sharply to the NBCC’s version that they have been forced to abandon the Rs 170 crore project as the concerned department of the state government has been non-cooperating with them, Goala said, his ministry had forwarded the six Detailed Projects Report (DPR) as sent to the Central Government and the latter accordingly sanctioned the mega project and the NBCC was accorded the contract. But since the very beginning the NBCC had been playing truant in Silchar, alleged Goala.

It could be known that the Guwahati based construction which was entrusted with the project by the NBCC had already left the work. Goala said, his ministry had caused no problem for the NBCC, which was solely responsible for non-completion of the mega project. THE SENTINEL
