People did not recognize my effort : Sontosh Mohan Dev

SILCHAR, May 16: “It is very unfortunate that the people of Silchar did not recognize my endeavour for the development of Barak Valley.” After conceding defeat, Sontosh Mohan Dev expressed his frustration in this way. Talking to the media before leaving the ISBT counting centre, Dev said, for the last five years, as a Minister of the UPA government, he had done his level best to bring various schemes for the region. But people had not recognized his endeavour, he lamented. A visibly frustrated Dev said, now he would rest for some time, but his endeavour for the development of the region would not cease. He said, he would keep close vigil on the performance of his opponents and would request the people of Silchar to make a comparison. THE SENTINEL
