Silchar ABVP threatens agitation

SILCHAR, June 5: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthee Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the BJP, are planning to launch a mass agitation if the passenger train services between Lumding-Silchar routes was not restored in the current month. Badarpur unit of the ABVP had handed over a memorandum, addressed to Railway Minister Mamata Benarjee, to the Area Manager Debashish Dhar Choudhury, demanding immediate restoration of passenger train services in the hill sector of the NF Railway which was suspended following repeated attacks by Dimasa militants on the running trains in mid-April. Copies of the memorandum were sent to Silchar and Karimganj MPs Kabindra Purkyastha and Lalit Mohan Suklavaidya. THE SENTINEL
