Assam Accord

NEW DELHI, July 15: Replying to a question from AGP MP Birendra Prasad Baishya, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandran told the Rajya Sabha that steps were been taken to implement all the provisions of the Assam Accord. He said certain provisions of the accord like measures to prevent infiltration and all-around development of Asom need to be monitored regularly. On National Register of Citizens (NRC) update, the Union minister said the Asom Government had initiated steps on the basis of relevant records, and the Centre has also provided Rs 3.02 crore for computerization of the relevant records.
