SILCHAR, July 30: The Cachar Employees’ Union said, the All Assam Employees’ Union is going to observe an employees’ protest meeting at Silchar on August 19, 2009, demanding the publication of the pay commission report and settling its deadline on the issue, in a press meet.
The press meet was held at the Silchar district Library and Auditorium and was coordinated by Cachar District Employees’ Union.
The union officials told mediapersons that the new pay commission report should satisfy the interest of the employees’ union fully, otherwise, a mass agitation will be taken out by them.
The Union also said that the convention would be attended by district secretary Sanjib Debnath. Central Committee organization secretary Sudip Bhattacharjee said: “It is to compel the government to publish the pay commission report for the interest of the employees that the meeting is scheduled to be held on August 19.”
The Union officials further informed pressmen that the convention would be participated by the employees’ union of Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi. SOURCE: THE SENTINEL
