BADARPUR, July 5: With the view to beautify Bardarpur, the Karimganj district administration has planned a number of schemes to uplift the beauty of the town. The Karimganj Deputy Commissioner Dr M Angamuthu earnestly appealed to the citizens of Badarpur to extend their help and cooperation to turn the schemes into reality in a citizens meet held in Badarpur Circle office on Friday.
The meeting was attended by Karimganj district administration officials, leading citizens of Badarpur, chief officials of various departments of Badarpur, heads of different educational institutions, BVCL authorities, Badarpur railway area manager Debasish Dhar Choudhury, Karimganj additional SP KK Das, executive officer of Badarpur town Committee as well as the circle officer of Badarpur Nirmal Kanti Devnath and others.
Dr Angamuthu said: "After inspecting the entire area of Badarpur, I have come to the conclusion that the roads, drains and footpaths need immediate repair and the markets have turned into smelly bins which are unhygienic for the people living here. Therefore, immediate measures would be adopted to curb these problems." The DC also said the population of the town is increasing rapidly due to which the area is shrinking for the inhabitants. Therefore, a request to establish a Municipality Board in Badarpur town would be extended to the Chief Minister soon. SOURCE: THE SENTINEL
