SILCHAR, Aug 10: The public of Lakhipur area along with many local organizations held a meeting recently at Lakhipur and submitted a memorandum to Lakhipur subdivision administrative officer Madhumita Choudhury. The memorandum said Banskandi Block BDO and Zonal magistrate Haricharan Bhakta had allegedly misbehaved with CPI candidate for Ward No. 2 Kaushika Sharma in the recently held municipality elections on July 31. It, therefore, has demanded immediate apology from Bhakta. A deadline of 72 hours was also set for him failing which the agitation might be vigorous.
Sources said that in the recently held municipality elections, Lakhipur subdivision administrative officer Madhumita Choudhury conferred special responsibilities on the BDO’s of Banskandi– Bhakta and Binnakandi block – Subhash Koiri. The Lakhipur subdivision managed to handle the situation during the election for which the administrative officer Madhumita Choudhury, SDPO Kiran Kumar Barma and OC Bishwajit Purkayastha of Lakhipur PS were accredited by the public.
