Dilip Paul elected as BJP leader of the Silchar Municipality Board

SILCHAR, Sept 11: Dilip Paul would take oath as the new BJP leader of the Silchar Municipality Board on Monday. District BJP leaders along with seven of the newly elected ward commissioners met at the party office to elect their leader today.

Sources said Paul, who is a close aide of MP Kabindra Purkayastha, was the unanimous choice for the post of opposition leader. Sources further added that Jharna Das was elected as the deputy leader while Gopal Roy was elected as the chief whip. Paul, while talking to The Sentinel, said that the newly elected members along with him would try their best to discharge their duties towards the people of Silchar. THE SENTINEL
