Employees decry delay in pay commission report

SILCHAR, Sept 19: All Assam District Administrative Employees Union observed a day-long non-cooperation movement in protest against the delay of the Sixth Pay Commission Report and the delay in sanctioning 25 per cent intermediate economic benefit to the employees.

The members of the union observed cease-work in all the districts of Asom in support of their protest movement.

In Cachar district, the employees of the Deputy commissioner’s office, revenue, food, transport department and also the workers at the sub-divisional offices of Katigorah, Sonai, Lakhipur, Udharband etc, marked their attendance and walked out of their offices.

The union members expressed their dissatisfaction on the non-clearance of dues before Idd-ul-Fitre and Durga Puja. The union, in a press release, stated that within September 30, the Sixth Pay Commission report has to be published by the Government and their demands have to be fulfilled failing which the union may observe a non-cooperation movement on October 5 and October 6 throughout the state.
