Youth found dead

SILCHAR, Sept 12: The body of a teenager was recovered from the Silchar Medical college and Hospital yesterday. The body has been identified as that of Dipan Roy (19) who was working as a cook in the Railway Guest House.

Sources said that Dipan was missing since Thursday and later on his family members found him admitted in SMCH where he breathed his last. His body was handed over to his family today after post-mortem.

Meanwhile, Dipak’s elder brother Gopal Roy, a resident of Ghaniala area, told The Sentinel that Dipak had called one of his friends on Thursday night from an unknown mobile number and had asked for help. Gopal further said Dipan had told his friend that he was reportedly picked up by the police while he was returning from his duty and that the police had allegedly beaten him up.
The family members of the deceased tried to contact Dipan but in vain and later came to know that he was admitted in the SMCH. They rushed to the hospital but could not save him. THE SENTINEL
