Corruption slur on SMCH anasthesist
SILCHAR, Nov 6: The Silchar Medical College and Hospital authorities have decided to constitute a team to probe into an allegation levelled by Cachar district Congress general secretary Jalal Ahmed Majumdar against an anasthesist BJ Shyam of Silchar Medical College and Hospital. Majumder alleged that BJ Shyam had demanded money from him just before conducting a surgical operation on Majumdar’s son by a visiting ENT surgeon from Chennai.
Sources said a delegate of the district Congress met SMCH principal Dr Sandip Swapan Dhar and informed him about the matter.
The delegation also alleged that one of Shyam’s accomplice had even warned Majumdar that if he did not turn up with the money demanded by Shyam, he would lose his son’s life due to an overdose of anasthesia. THE SENTINEL
