Foundation of AMSA building laid

SILCHAR, Oct 31: Assam Urban Development Minister Dinesh Prasad Goala laid the foundation stone of the office building of Cachar Chapter of the Assam Medical Service Association (AMSA) at Satindra Mohan Dev Memorial Civil Hospital, Silchar.

Goala assured the AMSA of all assistance. He announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh for the proposed building.

Speaking on the occasion, Silchar MP Kabindra Purkayastha reminded the doctors of their responsibility and duty towards the society.

Cachar District Congress Committee president Karnendu Bhattacharjee said Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has brought a sea change in the entire health service in the State, and it is now the responsibility of the doctors to continue it.

Others who spoke on the occasion were Deputy Commissioner Gautam Ganguli, Joint Health Director Amrit Narayan Roy and Cachar unit AMSA president and secretary Dr Ajit Bhattacharjee and Dr Arup Patowa respectively. THE SENTINEL
