Move to regularize jobs of SMCH casual workers

SILCHAR, Nov 12: Ashikur Rahman Laskar, secretary, Casual Workers’ Union, Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH), said in a press release that the jobs of 3rd and 4th grade casual employees of the SMCH would be regularized soon.

State Excise Minister Gautam Roy, in a letter recently, asked the SMCH Principal to take necessary steps to regularize the jobs of the casual workers. The minister’s letter also made mention of an instruction issued from the office of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi in this connection. The press release further said the SMCH Principal is expected to start the official processes for creating of new job opportunities and regularization of the jobs of casual employees soon. The Casual Workers’ Union of the SMCH has expressed its satisfaction on the initiative taken by the government. THE SENTINEL
