‘Publish full Pay Commission report by Nov 22’

SILCHAR, Nov 10: The State executive body meeting of the Sadou Asom Zila Prasashan Karmachari Sanstha (SAZPKS) expressed its dissatisfaction over the partly published Sixth Assam Pay Commission report and demanded a full report within November 22 in a press meet held recently in Tezpur. The Silchar branch of the SAZPKS was informed about the press meet last evening.

According to the SAZPKS apex body, the partial report of the Pay Commission does not reflect the Central scale and, therefore, it has demanded a separate pay structure for the administrative employees considering the importance of their official duties and applications. The Assam Government, realizing the gravity and merit of the administrative employees, had earlier proposed a separate pay structure for them though this was not reflected in the Pay Commission report published recently, SAZPKS members said.

The SAZPKS also demanded three per cent annual increment in their income instead of the one per cent, as mentioned in the Central Government’s decision, and to pay all the State employees the Central pay scale since January 1, 2006.

The apex body further said at the press meet that if the State Government did not publish the complete Pay Commission report within November 22 next, it would be forced to stage a non-cooperation movement. If the administrative employees are not given a separate pay structure, then SAZPKS will stage a seven-day non-cooperation movement against the government in the first week of December, the body added.
