Red Shield Division recovers weapons

SILCHAR, Nov 29: 11 Field Regiment (ZOJILA) of Red Shield Division of Army recovered an AK 47 rifle and one .9mm carbine along with ammunition during an operation recently.

The 11 Field Regiment had recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition which included an AK 56 rifle, nine SLR rifles, one .51 mm mortar, 16 morter bombs and over 5,500 rounds of assorted ammunition and apprehended three active members of the United Tribal Regulatory Army (UTRA) which looted the said arms and ammunition from Chekarchum police out post on November 13.

All the weapons and ammunition seized including the three active members of the utra group were handed over to the police recently. THE SENTINEL
