SILCHAR, Dec 2: A day-long district-level convention of youths was held here in joint coordination of Nehru Yuva Kendra and Assam University yesterday. The convention was inaugurated with the lighting of auspicious lamp by Gautam Biswas, pro vice-chancellor, which was presided over by Cachar additional deputy commissioner BC Nath.
Nikunja Bihari Biswas, head of the department of education, Haran Dey, deputy director of information and public relation, Dr Subrata Dutta of the Social Service Department of Assam University and Mritunjoy Singh addressed the meeting. While addressing the meeting, the dignitaries advised the youths to work hard to uplift their condition and to serve the society around them, besides engaging themselves in various professions.
