Silchar, March 4: Noted Bengali writer and social activist Mahasweta Devi has sought intervention of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee for the change of nomenclature of Silchar Railway Station to “Bhasha Sahid Station” in respect of the 11 language martyrs who sacrificed their lives on May 19, 1961 when police fired on them at the railway station.
