He was pained to see lack of awareness among the people about Netaji. He said the message of this great revolutionary has to be spread among sections of people and inspire them with the principles and ideals for which he fought for and stood. It is time to recollect his sacrifices and contributions that in fact hastened the struggle for the freedom of the country.
Young generations in particular who are becoming oblivious of his need to be awakened by his creative ideas, life and most important his revolutionary fight for the cause of the nation. The Foundation which was revealed, would work in that direction. Dr Subir Kar, teacher of Assam University, appreciated the initiative of Paritosh Paul Chowdhury and expressed the hope his dream nationalist project would become the reality of the day. Others who spoke on the occasion included Pabitra Bhusan Deb, Mridul Mazumdar and Biswatosh Chowdhury.
It is to be recalled that Paritosh Paul Chowdhury led Netaji Rath from Silchar to Moirang and all the way to Delhi to submit memorandum to the Prime Minister and Home Minister of India on January 23. The rath passed through different states. The objective was to arouse consciousness among people about Netaji and to build up public support, demanding publication of Mukherjee Commission Report in order to unravel the circumstances leading to his death in the reported aircraft crash.
He pointed out that the Centre would be under constant pressure to make the report public and to hold discussion on it in the Parliament. The district committee has all the present three ministers and MLAs in order to add strength and incentive to Netaji’s cause.
