Special Correspondent Silchar, Dec 8: Manoj Murli Nayar and Manisha Murli Nayar, two budding Rabindra Sangeet artists of Kolkata, are coming to enthrall the audience here at the invitation of the cultural organization Bijoyee Sangha on December 13.They will sing Rabindra Sangeet at a musical soiree on the date at the District Library Auditorium. Though born in a Malayalam family, they have been groomed at Vishwa Bharati Shanti Niketan as Rabindra Sangeet artists.Their melodious voice and talent as artists have already earned the kudos of music lovers of this genre in Kolkata. This information was shared with media persons today in the Club premises by its president Ashish Kumar Gupta and general secretary Dipankar Dutta. Bijoyee Sangha has made a niche in the cultural and sports arena of this town. In fact, the Club has its origin as a sports club in 1945. For more than 60 years, it has been involved in various social, cultural and sports activities in order to guide the youth on right path and direction.In their cultural programme every year, the Clubs members try to add grace and charm by inviting artists from outside the valley.Among the artists who have been on their cultural trip here include Suchitra Mitra, Rizwana Chowdhury Banya, Mita Haque among others to name a few. With Manoj and Manisha would come other artists like Arnab Chattopadhyay, Sumit Gupta and Sandipan Bandopadhyaya. source: sentinel assam
