Electric post in Panchgram area on the verge of capsizing

SILCHAR, July 25: Sources said the electric post carrying 11 KV wires of power supply between Panchgram and Shalchapra is on the brink of sinking due to the river banks being washed away by the river water. The post is currently supported by bamboos which obstruct it from falling into the river. But, as the river bank is continuously being washed by the water, the electric post might drown at any moment. Sources further said, greater Panchgram, Katakhal and Shalchapra areas are dependant on this 11 KV power line for electric supply. source: THE SENTINEL

Army nabs miscreant

SILCHAR, July 25: Troops of the 11 Field Regiment Red Shield Division along with the jawans of the 5th Assam Riffle raided Chhatraidayal village under Joypur Police out post on July 23 midnight and apprehended one Md Hussain Ahmed (23) from his residence. Explosives like four detonators, 100 gm gun powder and 13 pieces of charge wires were recovered from his residence. He was later handed over to Joypur Police out post by the combined forces. source: THE SENTINEL
