Cachar DC files FIR against BJP MLA

SILCHAR, Aug 5: Cachar Deputy Commissioner Gautam Ganguly has filed an FIR against Borkhola MLA Dr Rumi Nath and BJP candidate for Ward No. 3 Rosy Chakraborty, who was defeated by Congress candidate Madhumita Kar in the just-concluded civic body polls, on charges of ‘unlawful gathering’ in front of the DC’s bunglow and violation of 144 CrPC. In order to disperse the BJP activists, the police resorted to lathi-charge leaving a number of BJP workers injured. The FIR levelled similar allegations against some others who had also gheraoed the bunglow late last night after Rosy’s defeat was declared. Meanwhile, sources said hundreds of people from Ward No. 3 today staged a dharna in front of the DC office demanding justice. The BJP workers alleged that Madhumita was declared winner with the direct intervention by the district administration as all the other candidates and their representatives vacated the counting hall alleging malpractice during counting. On the other hand, Ganguly in a press meet, said the BJP candidate did not protest during the counting period but raised a hue and cry once she was declared defeated. Meanwhile, Dr Nath said that they would continue the agitation till the administration does justice to them.

Asom Urban Development Minister Dinesh Prasad Goala said: “Law is equal for all, and Dr Nath, though an MLA, has violated the law, and hence the FIR against her is justified.” THE SENTINEL

i agree to our honourable minister that law is equal for every one but i want to ask to our honourable govt whether this law is applicable only for opposition is not that applicable for rulling party also yes its rite whatever allegetion did cachar dc has put forward its true but i want to ask to the depty commisioner why this situation came instead of controlling the situation he gave an fir is nt that the people who came to him is nt human being that he dosnt understand there language so if he doesnt control al this situation hw he deserve to be an DC inside the polling station where counting is going on honourble dc are present there and as per rules no 1 can enter inside except those who r counting agent but it was seen that many caders of ruling party get entry easily without any pass so write now we ask to our honlb minister the word he used law is for every1 is this applicable to the above situation...and regarding candidate of ward no 3 she just show that what ever happend is wrong as per constituency every citizen of india has the rite to say as it was a democratic country but depty comissioner made it a issue of violating rules they came to give complain what had happend nd wants to take suggestion from him but instead of that he come and talk to them he made it a political issue as per informed by his leader...so if ny1 dosnt have the rite to say nything than plz dnt use this word india is a democratic country..
