SILCHAR, Sept 16: After a gap of 13 years, Lakhipur Town Committee will get a new chairman as the last election in Lakhipur was held in 1996. Kalyan Chandra Dey took oath as the new chairman of Lakhipur Municipality Board in a meeting yesterday.
The meeting was presided over by Lakhipur administrative officer Barenya Das. Kalyan Dey thanked the people of Lakhipur for their cooperation to bring up the municipal board in Lakhipur and also sought their cooperation for smooth functioning of the board in future. THE SENTINEL
