Biswajit Paul returns home

From our staff Reporter

SILCHAR, Jan 1: Silchar police smelt a rat as Biswajit Paul returned home just after 24 hours of his sensational kidnapping recently. Police sources said Paul returned to Hailakandi from Shillong under tight security.

According to the police sources, Biswajit told the police that he was abducted by unidentified miscreants at gun point while he was returning from his jewellery shop on his motorcycle. He said the miscreants forced him to ride up to Algapur where a group of at least five miscreants were waiting in a Tata Sumo car. He added that he was dragged into the vehicle and only remember opening his eyes to find himself in a dense forest in a place called Smith near Shillong, Meghalaya. Paul also said that he had only a half pant on his body as all his clothes were also stolen by the miscreants.

Police sources, on the other hand, said they are investigating the case as according to earlier reports, Paul has been receiving threatening from an unknown caller for the last three months and he had not informed the matter to the police. Moreover, it is quite unbelievable that a famous man like Biswajit can be kidnapped from the main town without anybody noticing it, the sources added. THE SENTINEL
